Fridge is the name of the company that manufactures refrigerators. In day today lives we often use the term 'Fridge' instead of 'Refrigerator'.
For Example : We have refrigerator at home. (correct)
We have fridge at home. (wrong)
*Dhalda & Vanaspathi
Dhalda is the name of the company that produces Vanaspathi. But in day today lives we use the term 'Dhalda' instead of 'Vanaspathi'.
For Example : Suresh went to shop to buy some vanaspathi. (correct)
Suresh went to shop to buy some dhalda.(wrong)
