Maruti Suzuki is best and largest car manufacturer Company in India. And also it is one of the leading car companies. Recently Maruti announces its new plane that is it will recollects 1492 vehicles comprising of Ertiga, Swift, Dzire and the A-Star hatchback models manufactured between 19 October and 26 October 2013 by reason of a possible problem in the steering column.
This auto maker company will replace the defective steering column free of cost in these vehicles. So these specific models are sold only limited level in the domestic market and do not affect any of the cars exported from India, CNBC-TV18 reported today.
The company given the statement about it, it will observe the steering column for 1,492 vehicles such as Ertiga: 306 units, Swift: 592 units, Dzire: 581 units and A-Star: 13 units manufactured between October 19, 2013 and 26th October 2013.
The new steering column has been dispatched to dealer workshops. This exercise is limited to vehicles within the above specified range only and does not pertain to any other vehicle of the company or any of its exports, MSI added.
So Maruti Suzuki dealers will contact owners of all vehicles in the above range, it said. The last big recollect made by the company was in February 2010 when it recalled about one lakh units of its flagship export model ‘A-Star’ to put back a faulty fuel pump part.
Auto maker companies have been down to business in recalling vehicles in case of safety issues since industry body SIAM initiated a voluntary recall policy in last July, taking the total recalls to over 3 lakh units.
Recently, General Motor India had recollected 1.14 lakh units of its multi-purpose vehicle Chevrolet Tavera, manufactured between 2005 and 2013, to address emissions and specification issues. The company had also recollected 4,000 units of the diesel variant of its Sail model to address a potential engine issue.
