Goundamani is a Tamil Comedy legend who has appeared in 270 Tamil movies as a comedy artist. He has made his debut in a Tamil movie Annakili directed by Devaraj Mohan in the year of 1976.

Personal Life

Goundamani has born on May 25, 1939 in Valagundapuram, a village near Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu to a Tamil couples Karuppaiya and Annam alias Kaliamma. He has got married to Shanthi and has two children named Sumithra and Selvi.

His actual name is Subramani Karuppaiya, he started his acting career in theatre dramas, because of exceptional counter dialogues to his co-actors during stage shows he got a nick name as Counter Mani. After his entry to film industry his nick name of Counter Mani has become Goundamani.

After his debut movie Annakili he was acting in small roles in various movies, he got his initial breakthrough after joining with his co-actor Senthil. This Goundamani and Senthil pair has given many success movies and awesome comedy scenes in it.
