In 1947 he got his doctorate in economics at Oxford University. During 1970 and 1980 he placed in various positions in Government of India. During 1972-1976 he acts as a Minister of Foreign Trade and during 1982-1985 he acts as a Reserve Bank Governor. In 1985-1987 he appointed as planning commission head. Prime Minister is going to inaugurate 'Emerging of Kerala' on September 12. Evening he lay the foundation for South Indian Art Museum at Kerala, Kalamandalam. It is going to work under the concern of Art and Culture University, Thrissur. By evening of September 12 Prime Minister is going to leave with Defense Minister A.K.Antony to his home and they planned to visit Defense Minister home town Chethala and attend the school function. Next day September 13th he is going to lay foundation for project of Kochi Metro Rail Service and along with its foundation he going to inaugurate Golden Jubilee of Kerala Union of working journalist in Kochi. After all this foundation and inauguration he leaves the Kerala by Thursday and reaches his residence by afternoon.
